About the Owner
Sal Mitchell is the owner, chef and proprietor of Big Mitchell's Pit BBQ. He personally designed his menus, built his equipment (including his smoker), and formulated his sauces and rubs for the greatest flavor.
"I'm a barbecue purist. It's supposed to be a very slow process. It's not meant to be fast and convenient. I use smoke and wood in my grilling. I spend time researching and testing what I use on my meats. It's a very personal process and I care a lot about it."
